As Saffron Building Society continues to commit to service delivery and experience, the Business Development team at Saffron for Intermediaries is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members, which includes two internal moves.

Saffron Building Society always aims to support its employees’ professional development, so Saffron for Intermediaries were pleased to offer two roles in the Business Development Team internally to Raji and Simon who have both been committed team members of the Building Society for several years.
In addition, the team has been bolstered with the recruitment of Linsey as an administrator and the highly experienced and respected, Phil Lawford as a Business Development Manager. The four additions to the Business Development Team will allow Saffron for Intermediaries to continue to offer outstanding service to Intermediaries and brings additional experience to the team.
Raji Sidhu-Housden
Raji started at Saffron Building Society in 2017 working as an Arrears Officer. As she moves into the Business Development Team, Raji will be bringing her ability to develop and nurture trusting relationships. As a Business Development Administrator, Raji’s immediate goal is to gain a CeMap qualification to assist in continuing the growth in her ability to provide mortgage advice. Raji commented: “I am really looking forward to assisting Saffron for Intermediaries in growing the number of intermediaries that use us regularly, by offering exceptional customer service, knowledge and expertise in specialist markets.”
Simon O’Donnell
Starting as a Branch Manager in 2016, Simon has had a number of roles within Saffron Building Society and is now excited to be in his new role as Business Development Manager for Saffron for Intermediaries. Commenting on his move, Simon said: “I’m a real advocate for Saffron Building Society and the products it provides. Over the last five years, I have built great knowledge of the Saffron Building Society mortgage products, and I look forward to bringing this to the Business Development Team.”
Phil Lawford
Phil Lawford started at the beginning of March in his role as a Business Development Manager. Phil boasts over twenty years as a Business Development Manager and will bring a raft of experience and knowledge to the Business Development Team. When asked about the role, Phil commented: “It is a wonderful opportunity, and I can’t wait to help raise the profile of Saffron Building Society among the intermediary market.”
Linsey Smith
Linsey joined Saffron Building society in November of last year and has taken on an Administrator role in the Business Development Team. As part of her role, Linsey will be taking technical support calls, and overseeing live web chats, as well as supporting the team with reporting and administration as required. Commenting on what she is most excited about, Linsey said: “We are the first contact for Intermediaries when they enquire with Saffron for Intermediaries. I want them to be met with professionalism and efficiency, and I look forward to building up good relationships with them.”
Tony Hall, Interim Head of Mortgage Sales says of the appointments: “This is an exciting time for us and demonstrates the Society’s commitment to service delivery and developing long lasting relationships with all our intermediary partners. We are delighted to welcome our new team members on board and the addition of Phil with his extensive experience and passion for the industry is a real bonus.”
The new team members will assist with the continuation of the growth of the Saffron for Intermediaries brand, and Intermediaries will get the opportunity to meet Phil on 16th April as he will be answering criteria questions in the next volume of the hugely popular SFI Live webinar series.
